Hi, I’m Darren!
I am a Surrey wedding photographer living in Oxted with my wife Lucy and 7 year old son Oliver.
Photographing weddings and people is my passion. They are such happy and special occasions and having the opportunity to be a part of a couples special day is a joy and a privilege. I believe a big part of being a wedding photographer is making you and your guests feel comfortable in front of the camera. My relaxed and friendly style enables you to enjoy being photographed and us to create great images together.
My other photography passion is wildlife photography. Before I became a wedding photographer this was how my camera was put to use. I spent hours in the wild and at Safari Parks capturing some beautiful images of stunning animals. This led me to a dream trip to Borneo to capture some photographs of orang-utans and proboscis monkeys and shortly after to photograph on the Savannahs of Kenya.
Aside to photography and an interest in wildlife I am a keen sportsman and avid follower of football, golf, squash and almost every other type of sport. I’m a Liverpool supporter for those wondering; I grew up in the successful era of the 1980’s rather than being a Liverpudlian.
I love the outdoors and getting out into the countryside to explore. Our tent and walking boots have seen many parts of the UK, unfortunately our waterproofs have seen just as many!
In the last year few years my wife and I have been kept super-busy with our energetic son. The camera has found a whole new use with a lively little boy to chase around and photograph.
As you can see photography is a real passion, learnt in the classroom and developed by spending a great deal of time photographing everything from people to wild monkeys to architecture.
I would love to bring my enthusiasm for photographing weddings to your special day.
